The Men's Ministry of Saint James continues to be a source of empowerment to the men of our church and to the men of the community-at-large. Our Men's Bible Study on Saturday mornings remains the vanguard of our ministry. An average of 75 men meet and are enriched and enlightened as we study and discuss a wide variety of topics and events in the Bible, and as well as our own experiences. The theme of our bible study in 2004 was The Bible and You as we journeyed through the bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Highlights for the Year of 2004
- The G-Men (Godly Men) Study Group emerged as a result of the desire of some men to have a stronger and deeper walk with the Lord. What began as a ten-week course is now an on going ministry at Saint James. During the course men studied biblical principles, which give guidelines and direction to men who desire to be godly. The goal is to develop a large number of G-Men in such a way that they will have a positive impact in the home, in the church, on the job and in our communities.
- The Single Men’s Ministry dedicated to the spiritual growth of single men, embarked on a study of the book In Search of the Proverbs 31 Man by Michelle McKinney Hammond.
- The Network of Christian Men, Inc., continued its work with the Newark Literacy Campaign by tutoring adults in their reading skills.
- The Saint James Men’s Club held its annual Scholarship Luncheon. Proceeds benefited the Saint James Preparatory School.

The Men’s Bible Study on Saturday mornings continues to be the cornerstone of our ministry. Join us as we reflected and discussed how the scriptures affect our lives personally and how we could make practical application of them in our lives everyday.
