The Commission on Youth Ministries is committed to equipping, encouraging, empowering, educating and enhancing the lives of children (2-12), teen (ages 13-19) and families. Our focus is not limited to youths who are in the church but also in our surrounding area by providing “family friendly” ministries, programs, and activities that promote a holistic view in “growing fully mature followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”.
As a Youth Ministry dedicated to building and equipping young lives spiritually and socially, the Commission on Youth Ministries has integrated several ministries, programs and activities for the youth which allow them the opportunity to establish a relationship with God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. They also receive and understand proper teambuilding skills, learn how love their neighbor as themselves, and learn to bridge families together.
Our Youth Church is designed to minister to the heart and soul of youth ages 2-19. A unique house of worship, True Destiny Youth Church appeals to the younger generation and promotes healthy spiritual growth. Every Sunday, more than 250 youth gather at St. James to worship in the presence of the Lord.
Family Night, a major component in our ministry celebrates families by engaging in activities for families developed by families.
The Annual Teddy Bear Tea teaches children about friendship and about loving other people whom may or may not look like them. More than 75 children ages 2-10 along with their teddies join us on this special day as we celebrate God and friends.
"Dining with Destiny" a teen mentoring program, takes place once a month and gives teens the opportunity to work with an adult of their choice on the purpose/vision that God has predestined for their life.
The Annual Teen Ski & Fellowship Weekend held in January, gives teens the opportunity to travel to the Shawnee Mountains for skiing, snowboarding and for the fellowship of their peers. Teens who attend this annual event are brought closer to exploring the presence of God and are given a better understanding of friendship and fellowship.
