Chartered in 1946 by the late Rev. Mansfield Jackson, the St. James AME Federal Credit Union (FCU) is an economic empowerment financial institution in business for more than a half century. From offering loans to providing a secure way to save, the credit union is focused on helping its members improve their current lifestyles and invest in their futures.

LocationSt. James AME Federal Credit Union is headquartered inside of St. James AME Church in Newark, NJ with a branch office at Mt. Teman AME Church in Elizabeth, NJ. The St. James AME FCU plans to expand its field-of-membership to include sister churches in the AME Church Newark District.
Membership
St. James FCU is open to all members of the St. James AME Church or an immediate family member of someone who belongs to the St. James AME Church. Family members must reside in the same household of the church member in order to be considered for FCU Membership. There are currently 1,456 members from St. James AME and Mt. Teman AME Church congregations and the St. James Preparatory School.
